A household management app for couples.
Updated
Look for one app that holds the calendar, the money, the bills, the shopping list and the chores for both of you, with equal access and no per-person fee. If you juggle a separate app for each, things fall between them.
Start small: put bills and groceries in first, then add the calendar and chores once both of you open the app daily.
We Both is a household app that works well for two: one shared calendar, ledger, bills, list and chore list, free for both of you.

What a home for two actually has to manage
Even a two-person home has a lot of moving parts, and the cost of coordinating them is mostly invisible. Five things come up every week:
- The calendar: whose appointments, whose evenings out, what is on this weekend.
- Money: what was spent, what is left this month, which bill is due.
- Bills: rent, utilities, subscriptions and who pays each one.
- The shopping list: what is missing, and who is already at the store.
- Chores: who is doing what, and how often.
Why five apps is the problem
A calendar app, a budgeting app, a notes app, a grocery app and a chore app each work fine alone. The trouble is the gaps. The bill that is due on Friday is not on the calendar. The trip to the store does not know the budget. Nobody has both phones open at once to check.
One app does not need to be the best at everything. It needs to put the household in one view, so the question “what is going on this week?” has a single answer.
What We Both holds
- A shared calendar that connects Apple, Google and Outlook. Each of you chooses per calendar what the house sees: shared, busy only, or only you. Chores and bill due dates show on it.
- One shared money ledger for the house, with budgets, monthly limits and a plan for what is left after bills.
- Bills with due-date reminders, a quick Pay to mark them paid, and a “who pays it” on each one.
- Shopping lists that refresh on both phones every few seconds while open, with a cart view for the store.
- Chores with owners, repeats and reminders, and no scoring.
- A shared notes board, and widgets on the Home and Lock Screen.

Honest limits
We Both is an iPhone app (iOS 16.4 and up). Android is in beta, by early access on request. It has no iPad or Mac app.
You type your spending, or say it with the Premium assistant. There is no bank connection, which some people want and some prefer to avoid. It is for people 13 and up, so there are no child accounts. And it keeps one pot for the house instead of tracking who owes whom.
Questions people ask
What is the best household management app for couples?
The one both of you will open daily. For a mix of calendar, money, bills, list and chores in one place, We Both is built for it. For only a family calendar, Cozi is a long-standing choice.
Is We Both a couples app?
No. It is a household app for anyone you live with. It works well for two, and also for roommates and families with teenagers.
Does it connect to my bank?
No. You type an expense or say it. The upside is that nothing disconnects or needs relinking, and there are no bank logins to hand over.
Can we both use it for free?
Yes. The ledger, bills, budgets, calendar, lists and chores are free for everyone in the house, with no member limit. Premium is optional and covers the house.
Get the whole house on it.
Download it free, then invite everyone you live with. They see the same list, the same calendar and the same money.
