A Cozi alternative, and who should stay with Cozi.
Updated
If you are leaving Cozi because of ads or the paid Gold plan, We Both is a free alternative with a shared calendar, shopping lists and chores for everyone in the house, and no ads. If you use Cozi’s recipe box or meal planner, stay: We Both has neither.
Cozi’s own App Store listing says its free version contains advertising, and that seeing events more than 30 days ahead is part of Gold.
We Both gives the whole house a shared calendar, shopping lists and chores with no ads, and adds bills and a shared money ledger that Cozi does not list.

Why people leave Cozi, and what to pick instead
These come from 1 and 2 star reviews on the App Store and Google Play. They are what reviewers say, not our verdict.

| You need recipes and a meal planner | Stay with Cozi, or look at AnyList. We Both has neither. |

What Cozi does well
- It is built around the family calendar: color-coded, with reminders and agenda emails.
- Recipes and a weekly dinner planner feed straight into the shopping list.
- Cozi Today shows the day’s agenda at a glance.
- It runs on iPhone, Android and the web, so a mixed-phone family can all use it.
Who should stay with Cozi
- You plan dinners from saved recipes. We Both has no recipe box.
- Someone in the house uses the web version daily. We Both’s web is a money ledger only.
- Your household is on Android and cannot wait for the beta.
- You are happy with Gold and just want fewer ads. Gold removes them.
Who We Both fits
A household that wants the calendar, the list and the chores in one place and would rather not see ads: partners, roommates or a family. Everyone has equal rights, there is no member limit, and inviting takes a link, QR code or house code. It runs on iPhone today. Android is in beta, by early access.
Questions people ask
Is there a free alternative to Cozi?
Yes. We Both is free to start with a shared calendar, unlimited shopping lists and chores, and no ads. Premium is optional and covers the whole house.
Does We Both have recipes or a meal planner?
No. If recipes matter, stay with Cozi or look at AnyList. We Both has shared shopping lists, not a recipe box.
Can I bring my Cozi calendar into We Both?
We Both connects the Apple calendars on your phone and the Google or Outlook accounts you sign in to, so events already in those calendars show up. It does not import Cozi’s own data.
Does We Both work on Android?
Android is in beta, by early access through email. The iPhone app is the one in the App Store today.
